Business Basics 101 with Genesis Preferred Solutions

The NBMBAA-DFW Chapter hosted its second Wealth Creation Series (WCS) event at the Arlington Central Library in Arlington, Texas in June. The workshop, “Business Basics 101,” educated entrepreneurs on how to build a sound and profitable business. Cassandra Bradford, the owner of Genesis Preferred Solutions and the founder of DFW Roundtable, facilitated the workshop and detailed the steps to building a profitable company

Bradford explained the components of a business plan. Specifically, she focused on the SWOT analysis. This is a visual process that helps an entrepreneur properly position the company in the marketplace.

Advertising and marketing have a price. Bradford admonished business owners to build the cost into their budget and to be consistent in the branding of collateral. “Business cards, websites, and social networking media should all be the same.”

Social and traditional networking outlets help you market your business and should be taken seriously. Bradford stated, “Slay your dragon and get out there and use those social networks.”
