by Felicia Malone, DFW Chapter PR & Marketing Committee Member
Continuing its legacy of developing members into active volunteers, the National Black MBA Association DFW Chapter held its volunteer orientation on February 18th, 2010 at the Center for Community Cooperation in Dallas, Texas.
Susan Bell, president of NBMBAA-DFW, welcomed the new recruits and spoke of the important role that volunteers play in the organization. Shirley Addison, vice-president of administration for the local chapter, also spoke of the exciting opportunities that come with member volunteerism.
The Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter is run 100% by volunteers. Rosalyn Bowie, vice-president of marketing, said, "We just could not run this organization without volunteers. It is great to see the enthusiasm of these volunteers, and I look forward to working with them to further the mission of this organization."
Volunteers asked questions and shared ideas on how to add value to the organization. Members left with a sense of purpose and new goals to enhance the future of the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter.
