LOT Students Provide Helping Hands at the Holidays - Part 2
Pictures and Articles submitted by Aneisha Campbell
Members and friends of the NBMBAA Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program had the opportunity to see how one of the oldest service organizations help others access the basic necessities of life during their community service event at the Dallas Salvation Army located at Harry Hines Blvd. On December 23, just two days before the receipt of their own Christmas presents, Chelsea Scott, Dominique and Quincy Cooper, Chad Morgan, Bryan Davis, Phillip Smith, and Evan Roney helped to prepare gifts for the families in need this Christmas. Scott worked as a runner, taking the items from one location the next. Morgan, Smith, Dominque Cooper and event sponsor, Aneshia Campbell, worked in the verification area, helping to ensure that the items selected matched the actual items placed in the bags for the families. Quincy Cooper and a couple of other "friends of LOT" worked to ensure that the experience for the families was safe and in compliance with the organization's policies. Davis utilized his communications skills and worked in the processing area as a bi-lingual associate while Roney helped to transport the goods. Each area of activity helped the students to feel like they were able to give back and help others to have a brighter Christmas.
