LOT Students Develop iEntertainment Strategy
by Kathleen Valentine
Each year, a group of NBMBAA Chapters compete in the Annual Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Case Competition, sponsored by ExxonMobil. Students from LOT chapters across the country come together to compete for cash prizes. Each student team analyze a real Harvard Business Case and present to a panel of judges comprised of local corporate executives. The Dallas-Fort Worth LOT Team competed with teams from Washington DC, South Florida, Houston, New Jersey, Detroit, just to name a few. In 2007, the competition was a business case about Apple Computer and the competition was held in at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. The competition teaches the students valuable business valuation and teamwork skills, while exposing them to college level business case problems. Due to the generosity of the NBMBAA Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter corporate partners and fundraising efforts, we were able to take a team of 4 students and 3 alternates to Philadelphia.
